In this controller role, you will be responsible for all accounting for our Turkish office in Istanbul. Because the organization is lean you will also provide support on other office matters, so some flexibility is required.

Besides accounting you will also take care of formal documents. Our legal department will support you in this. Also you will, together with our local accountant, submit the local tax declarations and you will be in contact with customs regarding the export documents.

Finally, you are responsible for debtor management. You contact our customers to make sure they pay on time or to make an arrangement if that is not possible.

In short, a very diverse and broad function. More than enough variety, but it does require some flexibility. This job posting is out both in Türkiye and the Netherlands, but this text is really intended for the Turkisch market. This is a hybrid position, but we are looking for someone who is willing to work at least half of their working days from our office in Istanbul.

Position within the company

This role reports to our Manager Corporate Control, Bram Sijbers with a dotted line to the general manager in Türkiye. You are responsible for all administration in the Turkish location, together with a financial administrative assistant who reports to you. You will collaborate with other colleagues in Türkiye and with finance colleagues in the Netherlands.

For this position, we are looking for a person who takes responsibility and who enjoys taking on all aspects of accounting. And since it is not a very large location you are also willing to provide general support in other areas if necessary.

We are looking for someone who has communication skills and can easily connect with others and who is able to give direction to the other people in Türkiye. It is a must that you have knowledge of English and Turkish language, tax and accounting principles. Since a lot of analog work is still being done in Türkiye, we also hope that you are the person who can help us in further digitizing the processes.

What else do you bring:

• Bachelor degree or equivalent level;
• At least 3 years of experience within Turkish accounting;
• Knowledge of Turkish GAAP;
• Proficiency in Turkish and English, both written and oral is essential;
• You live within travelable distance from Istanbul;
• Knowledge of Luca (the accounting package we work with in Türkiye) is a plus.
