Junior Planner

Make your mark as Junior Project Planner at the Global Engineering department of Boskalis Offshore Energy. As Junior Project Planner your impact on the eventual success of a project can be extensive: Imagine the value that a correct schedule and thorough analysis on its status brings in a critical and complex project Your goal is to minimize unexpected surprises concerning timeframes. Next to that your overview of the project activities, assets and support equipment involved, enables you to arrange the highest level of efficiency. Making sure there is no idle time or ensuring a reduction of 5 days of using equipment, makes a huge difference in the numbers

Imagine yourself contributing to Boskalis getting awarded an international one of a kind project or working on one of these projects, such as the installation scope for a large offshore wind farm, the Taiwanese Changfang and Xidao project.

Your responsibilities as Junior Project Planner

• Set-up and management of overall multidisciplinary scheduling process within a tender or during contract execution, in line with stakeholder requirements.
• You take care of the scheduling during all phases of a project, from tendering to project close-out.
• Since scopes are large and complex, you will never have full information to base your schedule on. Therefore, you have to pro-actively chase missing information by getting input from every specialist involved and get their expert judgment in time.
• You use your overview of the entire project solution and everything involved, to think a few steps ahead and dry run scenarios: If we do X, what does this mean for Y? You share any solid advice which you can conclude from your insights, with the relevant stakeholders.
• Having this position in the project team enables you bring guidance to the team in determining what needs to happen to keep the project on track or how to bring it back on.
• You keep a log to ensure that others will immediately understand the changes and assumptions made to develop the schedule.

Your qualities
You can make your mark as Junior Project Planner if you have:

• A MBO4, HBO or BSc degree with up to 3 years of working experience in a relevant area, such as urbanism, planning, civil engineering, mechanical engineering or another technical background;
• Affinity with / interest in Offshore Energy, is seen as an advantage;
• A good command of written and spoken English and solid communication skills;
• Strong analytical skills and a talent for asking the right questions;
• A flexible attitude: you are stress-resistant and can handle last minute information and adjustments well;
• Strong excel skills and having experience with Oracle Primavera or MS Project is an advantage.

• Your team: You will be part of the Project & Tender Support team of Offshore Energy’s Global Engineering department. This team consists of 11 other junior, medior and senior Planners to share best practices and lessons learned with. Being part of Project teams and Tender teams, you will work most closely together with Tender/ Project Managers, Tender/ Project Engineers.
• Where you will work: We work from our beautiful campus in Papendrecht, working partly from home is a possibility.
• Fulltime job: The position of Junior Project Planner is a fulltime job (40 hours a week).
