The department Base Engine is responsible for thehardware development of new engines and maintaining thein-production products.
Base Engine is responsible forRotation Parts inside the base engine, like the Cranktrainsystem/component incl. Piston/Liner, the gear train, camshaft, oilpump but also seals, gasket, bolts and the exhaust manifold.
As the Mechanical Expert in this role, your duties willinclude:

  • Coordinating the developmentof new designs or enhancements to existing ones in collaborationwith internal stakeholders across various departments and externalsuppliers.
  • Leading Simultaneous Engineering(SE) teams.
  • Translating project objectives intoproduct requirements and collaborating closely with suppliers todevelop the design.
  • Managing all necessaryDesign for Six Sigma (DFSS) deliverables throughout theproject.
  • Implementing problem resolutionstrategies following the DMAICprinciple.
  • Initiating, coordinating, andmonitoring validation plans and releases in alignment with projectmilestones.
  • Ensuring that components meetrequirements with a focus on functionality, reliability, quality,robustness, and manufacturability.
  • Analyzingresults and making detailed technical proposals, includingpresentations to management.
  • As the MechanicalExpert, you will report to the Supervisor of the respectivegroup.

Functie-eisen
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree inMechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • Minimumof 3 years of experience in mechanical/hardware roles within aproduct development setting.
  • Experience in havyduty engines for trucks
  • Strong communicationskills with excellent presentationabilities.
  • Capable of managing multipleprojects simultaneously.
  • Proficient inproblem-solving techniques.
  • Fluency in Englishis required, with a willingness to learnDutch.
  • Automotive knowledge isadvantageous.
