WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To realize the full potential of our product portfolio in a very exciting new market, we are looking for an experienced Product Director.
This creative and driven professional is the spider in the web between customers, R&D, Sales, Marketing and Production and has the capabilities to develop a strong vision on the market. Therefor we consider the the Product Director to be the CEO of our products.
Working in a highly motivated and talented team, the candidate is a key player in the planning and realization of our unique products.


Optics11 Life is looking for a Product Director who will:

Provide leadership

The Product Director leads the Product Management and Biomedical Science teams. The Product Management team is the spider in the web between the market, customers, Sales, R&D, Marketing and Production and realizes the full potential of the Optics11 Life solutions in the market.
The Biomedical Science team validates and substantiates the technical product market fits.


Take ownership

The Product Director owns the Go-to-Market strategy for Optics11 Life’s product portfolio, including market probing & priming. Together with the team, the Product Director owns the product and application roadmap, defines revenue streams and regulatory trajectories.

Create partnerships

The Product Director is a partner for external stakeholders, KOLs as well as the Management Team, and initiates co-development projects with key accounts.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating, maintaining and executing the Optics11 Life product roadmap (Pavone, Cuore, Piuma, Chiaro);
  • Define value propositions and ensures customer requirements are translated into new products, product features and consumables;
  • Oversee product portfolio management: responsible for creating, maintaining and executing the applications roadmap for all products;
  • Develop pricing strategies and positioning for new products and features;
  • Contribute to the company strategy as a part of the Management Team;
  • Lead the Product Management team & Biomedical Science team;
  • Responsible for product life cycle management (product versions / configurations / compatibility, product lifetime, end of sales / maintenance);
  • Collect relevant market insights and analyze market trends;
  • Set up and manage collaborations / co-developments with third parties (customers or commercial & development partners) to strengthen our business opportunities and product / application development;
  • Own the product validation and commercial release process, and further develop this in line with the company needs.


SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • At least 5 years experience as a (lead) Product Manager for a life science instrumentation company, preferably at, or in close collaboration with, the company Head Quarters;
  • A track record of bringing new products to new customers in the life science market;
  • Quick understanding of the market developments and customer requirements and ensures that this translates in a product roadmap and a go-to-market strategy; 
  • MSc or PhD in biology, engineering or physics;
  • Experience in a scaleup environment;
  • Understanding the potential of 3D in vitro models and mechanobiology;
  • Understanding drug development and regenerative medicine processes;
  • Excellent leadership (experience) and project management skills;
  • Able to operate cross functional with excellent stakeholder management skills;
  • Generalist approach, driven to take on tasks beyond the standardly defined scope of responsibilities;
  • Entrepreneurial, commercial and result driven mindset;
  • Excellent communicator;
  • Netherlands home based.
