We are looking for a Senior Project Engineering Manager (PEM) to join our team in our Zoetermeer or Aberdeen office on a staff basis . This is a fantastic opportunity to work on the construction of some of the world’s largest current and upcoming Offshore Wind Farm projects.
The Senior Project Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of engineering works on a given project or projects, enabling safe and efficient project delivery for our clients from tender through to delivery. Due to the significant size, scale and technical complexity of our projects this role will have the requirement for extensive proven technical expertise
What will you be doing?
Responsible to the Project Manager for the delivery of all engineering requirements to the project. Responsible for ensuring that the standard of engineering services complies with or exceeds Seaway7 standards and processes, Client specifications and appropriate legislation. Providing effective leadership and guidance to the engineering and support teams. Ensure all engineering personnel are aware of and use Management System (BMS) Acquire complete knowledge of project parameters, including delivery obligations and interface relationships, to recommend innovative approaches that aim to lower risk and ensure project goals are achieved. Creation and management of the engineering plan to include CTR estimates and subsequent engineering schedules for implementation to ensure the overall project plan is effectively achieved, taking responsibility for delivery. Oversee the engineering teams and interactions for a given tender or project to secure its timely and efficient execution, while collaborating with Group Engineering Resources Management for resource accessibility and assignment. Interface with discipline leads to ensure deliverable schedule is being met and budget is on track across multiple work scopes. Interface with third party suppliers where required. Preparation and delivery of the technical strategy and all engineering requirements, associated with client work scopes, for tenders. Identify and quantify any engineering changes to contract, from Client or internal variations Participate in and steer the project's risk evaluation and reduction efforts. Utilize experience, established standards, and expertise from prior bids and ventures to achieve and carry out new assignments. Guarantee that the project team's engineering outcomes are efficient and focused on quality Ensure schedule of engineering is linked to procurement activities, package, and fabrication supply across multiple projects. Ensure that all procedures and methods of work developed have considered the safety of personnel and assets to minimise risk and potential cost of loss. Manage and participate in technical audits and monthly technical review of projects and studies.What you will bring to the team?
Degree qualified in Engineering or Marine discipline plus appropriate proven experience. Experience of engineering management within the energy industry, from the following: WTG Foundations (Monopiles/jackets), Cables, or Offshore construction projects, marine operations and heavy lifting. Strong communication skills to enable the technical strategy and risks to be clearly and concisely conveyed to tender and project teams. Experience of technical risk-assessment and mitigation and the related commercial impacts An individual with a systematic and meticulous approach, skilled in overseeing extensive projects and multidisciplinary engineering teams, with a clear and effective strategy for charting and disclosing technical development. Proven and demonstrable experience of extensive involvement with the full tender lifecycle, ideally on projects of a similar size and scope, assessing possible technical strategies, identifying, and developing the best option. Good commercial awareness, an understanding of cost and an ability to develop cost effective solutions for tenders and projects. Skilled in guiding collaborative efforts among specialized engineering teams within project or work package frameworks. Experience in technical risk identification and mitigation. Expertise in overseeing diverse engineering teams from multiple sites. Mentor other project engineering managers.What we can offer you
