Role Summary
The Application Engineer will be part of the Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMA) Commercial Operations Team for Seals & Systems for Original Equipment (OE). He/she is assigned to supporting requests from several Customers within the EMA territory for mechanical seals and associated auxiliary systems, including the Intercompany Engineered & Industrial business.
The Application Engineer will be the single point of contact focused on customer satisfaction with regard to on-time-delivery of quotations and reduction of cycle times for order entry for assigned Customers in order to help increase the seal/system bookings.
Your Role
Provide quotations for mechanical seals and auxiliary systems at market level pricing in response to Customer’s request for quotation (RFQ) in the requested time frame;
Interpret specifications and data sheets. Understand commercial terms such as warranties, delivery and payment terms as requested by Customer;
Create/maintain product standardizations including price lists based on pump equipment;
Support Sales Engineers to achieve booking targets by providing opportunities for monthly forecasting process;
When necessary, visit customer facilities together with the responsible Sales Engineer (or alone in case of visits to other Flowserve facilities), meeting Customer’s personnel and Purchasing teams to build professional relationships;
Interact with cross-functional partners in the Manufacturing Hubs to facilitate the quotation and order processes;
Complete contract review of purchase order, to facilitate the booking process;
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration;
7 years of experience in a similar technical/commercial role is preferred;
Knowledge of rotating equipment (particularly seals/pumps) is strongly recommended;
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are required, Dutch and/or German communication skills are a strong plus;
Be customer and service focused, flexible and open to change;
Must be a self-starter that is able to work with minimum supervision and have the ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities.
Open to travel to Customers and other Flowserve facilities or abroad (as necessary)
