ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

British American Tobacco the Netherlands is now searching for Marketing Finance Executive to join our offices in Amstelveen to support commercial side of organization within BNLX Cluster.

Marketing Finance provides proactive commercial insights and transparency of marketing decisions for effective resource allocation across the value chain.

The Marketing Finance Executive role is a bridge between the Finance and Marketing functions. It seeks to instill financial skills and awareness into the Marketing function, making clear the financial implications of decisions in an impartial manner.

The role is focused primarily on Revenue streams: Traditional Business (Combustible products, . cigarettes and other tobacco products) and New Categories, . e-cigarettes and liquids, tobacco heated products and oral nicotine which are expected to be key growth segments in the tobacco industry.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Added-value marketing support for Traditional Business and New Categories in the areas of: Distribution and trade remuneration; Marketing Effectiveness and Efficiency through financial Analyses and Insights of Brand, Trade and key accounts Performance; Resource Allocation Insights of Marketing Investments with focus on continuous support for New Categories; Preparation of monthly SOP Category and Brand P&Ls for the SOP meeting with an analysis of change vs. Previous Forecast Preparation of YTD Category and Brand P&Ls for the SOP meeting with an analysis of change vs. YTD forecast COGS analysis with a recommendation of improvements of the COGS Support Senior Marketing Finance Managers in Bus. Cases & PIRs Support Senior Marketing Finance Managers in various Area reporting requirements Participate in the EM Strategic Review; delivery of long-term financial modelling, provide input into the monthly DRM, CPM process and ensure financial data integrity in area reporting; Ensure transparent and objective financial insight is provided to support commercial decisions; Act as a true business partner to Marketing providing guidance and challenge to ensure effective allocation of Marketing spend; Responsibility for all financial aspects of KPI tracking for the business across all channels including proposal and implementation of new KPI’s where appropriate; Preparation and presentation of results of analyses to senior stakeholders; Follow governance and risk guidelines to ensure that controls are in place particularly with regard to SOX compliance in area of Marketing Investment; Support for Senior Marketing Finance Manager on cross category analyses related to Resource Allocation across the total Marketing Investment space within NWEA.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

Finance professional or MBA with experience of at least 4 years within an FMCG organization or in Consulting (experience in a Digital focused business will be greatly appreciated). Professional finance qualification (. CIMA) would be an advantage. Should have already performed role of management and/or financial accountant or finance business partner; Fluent English: excellent written and verbal communications; Fluent Dutch/French is an advantage.

Functional Knowledge & Skills:

Solid commercial approach, and understanding of all functions within a FMCG company; Knowledge and understanding of marketing principles and strategy, and market dynamics; Provider of financial insights regarding the impact of marketing strategies; Experience in setting and tracking of financial and marketing KPI’s ideally with focus on digital channel Experience of company planning process; Hands-on approach.

Managerial & Interpersonal Skills:

Strong management and interpersonal skills; Proactive, persuasive, and creative by challenging existing, and introducing new ideas; Able to work with all levels of staff, both internal and external; Ability to manage under pressure and cope with a changing environment
