About the team
The Buyout team is made up of two pillars:
A team is directed at the commercial approach to market The other team is directed at pricing and structuring.Both the pillar heads report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, member of the Athora Executive Committee.
The pricing and structuring team has a close relationship with the commercial team sparring on the commercial approach and opportunities. It is a small team, where you learn a lot fast and have ample opportunity to contribute – also to other areas of the organization where Buyout initiatives may also help other endeavors. Collaboration within and beyond the team is what makes it work. There is always room for constructive dialogue where we challenge each other. That helps our customers and it also helps us grow and learn. The team is highly technical by most standards, but we also know how to have fun and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
What are you going to do
Reporting to the Head of Buyouts Pricing & Structuring, who is part of the Management Team – Buyouts and Athora Senior Management teamResponsible to complete pricing and analytics related to Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) transactions and commercial priorities and activities, including:Support the commercial process as needed from cradle to grave working closely and under the direction of the Head and Transaction ManagersEnsure data from customers is properly reconciled and set up for pricing and analysisRun pricing exercises using Athora’s pricing modelSupport the preparation of client materials including offersGenerate additional metrics as needed for risk management or other purposesCollaborationAn essential requirement of the role is the collaboration with other teams within Athora Netherlands, including, but not limited to, Commerce Pricing & Profitability, Account Managers, Capital Management and Policies, Investment Office, and Risk ManagementSupport the development and sustained performance of a strong structuring, pricing and risk management framework, process, and execution for PRT transactionsStructuring activities are run within the PRT pricing models are developed within the Athora NL P&P team, and used by the PRT structuring staff, who develop additional structuring-specific models that leverage pricing analytics. The PRT team defines the specifications needed from the pricing model for the PRT businessTake an active part in the deal team BuyoutsIn collaboration with the other team members, participate in the engagement with pension clients, their advisers, and stakeholders where appropriateParticipate and support Athora Netherlands’ commercial PRT strategy: marketing, branding, thought leadership, and strategic partnershipsHelp position Athora as the to-go-party for pension solutions across the spectrum of Athora’s offering (buy-out, buy-in, funding, DIP, accumulation products)What do you bring
Bachelors degree in actuarial science, econometrics or similar requiredProfessional designation and/or Masters degree a plusDomain expertise related to liability pricing and modellingSome ability to code in Python and/or R requiredDetailed knowledge of pension / life market in NL a plusDetailed knowledge of financial markets, investments and reinsurance a plusKnowledge of Solvency II, insurance liabilities, and insurance capital structure a plusFluency in English – written and spokenCompetencies:
