Wat ga je doen? 

Als collega binnen onze afdeling werk je mee in het training- en simulatie-vakgebied. Je draagt bij aan onderzoek naar, en de ontwikkeling van innovatieve oplossingen die zich richten op het verbeteren van menselijk presteren middels training en/of tools om gebruikers van complexe systemen te ondersteunen. 

Wij werken aan vraagstukken over hoe je simulaties bouwt, hoe je simulaties met elkaar verbindt en hoe simulatoren operationeel en voor onderzoek ingezet kunnen worden. Bij het bouwen gaat het om welke componenten en technologieën je gebruikt. Interoperabiliteit gaat over de benodigde netwerken, protocollen en architecturen om dit mogelijk te maken. Bij het operationeel gebruik werken we aan efficiënte en robuuste inzet van simulatoren, maar ook aan hoe je met simulaties scenario’s en data genereert en resultaten analyseert om training te optimaliseren of nieuwe concepten te ontwikkelen.

Simulaties en aanverwante zaken zijn complexe systemen waar een veelvoud aan technologieën bij komt kijken. Flexibel kunnen omgaan met deze diversiteit aan technologieën is voor jouw rol net zo belangrijk als diepgaande kennis op een afzonderlijk onderdeel. 

Wat breng je mee?

Een afgeronde WO-opleiding in Lucht- en Ruimtevaarttechniek of vergelijkbare studierichting;
Affiniteit met innovatieve M&S technologie, zoals real-time simulatie technologie, AR/VR/MR, IoT, data- en softwarearchitecturen en netwerken;
Kennis van softwareontwikkeling (zowel de implementatie als procesmatig) is een pré;
Ervaring met (militaire) luchtvaartoperaties, of de bereidheid om je hierin te verdiepen;
Collegialiteit; je bent sociaal en werkt van nature graag samen;
Uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden, in de Nederlandse en Engelse taal.

Jouw nieuwe werkomgeving?

De afdeling Training & Simulatie groeit richting de 90 experts op het gebied van simulatie, informatica, training, luchtvaart en psychologie. Binnen onze projecten wordt multidisciplinair samengewerkt, zowel binnen als buiten het NLR. De afdeling beschikt over allerlei onderzoeksfaciliteiten zoals simulatoren voor gevechtsvliegtuig- en onbemande systemen en een laboratorium dat zich richt op AR/VR innovaties.
