Construction Superintendent

Nouvall Engineering Services is specialized inproject support for the (petro) chemical and maritime industry. Weprovide expertise in the field of Engineering, Project Management,Maintenance, Shutdowns, Construction and Safety.

• Carry out the task entrusted in aprofessional manner.
• Indirect connection with the Construction manager, coördinates theconstruction and pre-commissioning activities.
• Together with the Construction Manager, reviewthe Construction program and ensure that detail Constructionschedules are prepared for all areas and erectionactivities.
• In connectionwith the Construction Manager, review single progress reports andConstruction overall progress reports and site Constructionactivities in order to meet the projectschedule.
• Direct coördinationof his/her site construction personnel (civil supervisors, pipingsupervisors, steel structure supervisors, etc.)
• Communicate to other Contractor’s site personnelin order to achieve a smooth constructionprogress.
• Ensure to havereceived all the construction drawings, specifications, codes,procedures and work instructions, or know where they are located,and assure the construction activities are carried out according toall applicable references (project drawings, specifications,procedures and applicable codes andregulations).
• Ensure thatContractor is working with the latest version of constructiondocuments (drawings, specifications, etc.).
• Supervise the planning made up by the Contractorto ensure that it meets also the project schedule and thecontractual milestones signed between company and Contractor, andcheck that the work schedule for the Discipline foreman and all theteams under his/her command are produced in order to achieve thecompliance of the established schedule.
• Ensure the implementation and follow up ofconstruction works execution, quality control, safety and siteprocedures and method statements, as well as the ITPs and QC formsapplicable to the activities performed.
• Together with the Construction Manager, ensurethe implementation and follow up of the Mechanical Completionsystem to make sure that construction and pre-commissioningactivities are properly completed and all systems and subsystemsare Ready for Commissioning.
•Together with the Construction Manager, ensure the implementationof a Material Management system.
• Follow up with his/her team that red markeddocumentation is updated by the Contractor. At the company theDiscipline Supervisor shall verify that the modification has beencompleted and that the latest revision of the IFC drawing carriesthe correct red line (marked-up) modifications.
• Register, follow and control of punch itemssince the beginning of Construction stage.
• Together with his/her site team, assess thevalidity and request Construction Manager's approval, or ProjectManage's approval in case of Construction Manager absence, of anyVariation Order Request before any change of scope can bestarted.
• Attend Quality andHES awareness discussions and daily Tool Boxes.
• Identify and inform about any problem related tothe product, process or quality system. Suggest and implementsolutions.
• Assist to MaterialManager and QC Inspector to identify/clarify any Non-Conformity instorage or incoming items.
•Approval of delivery of any requested material from companyWarehouse to site.
• Controland execute Contract modifications/changes once they are properlyauthorized.
• Identify andregister lessons learned during the project.
• Ensure that all personnel involved withconstruction activities are working at any time in compliance withHES good practices and in accordance with the proceduresestablished. In case of accident, he/she must provide assistance tothe injured person(s) within his/her capacities/ possibilities andinitiate the corresponding investigation following the applicableHES procedures.
• Together withConstruction Manager, ensures that an Interface system/procedurehas been stablished to manage all interfaces with the existingPlant (if any), and/or other Projects that could be in execution atthe same time that Company'sProject.

Duties:
• Act as the Construction Manager in his/herabsence.
• Co-operate closelywith HES Superintendents/Officers and Quality ControlManager/Officers to ensure the proper assistance and surveillanceof safety and quality matters from the Field SupervisionTeam.
• Monitor incollaboration with Project Control Manager the progress ofContractor(s) works.
• Togetherwith his/her team, review Method Statements, Construction ExecutionPlan, and other Construction related studies (lifting,transportation, etc) submitted by Contractors.
• Ensure that Contractor(s) duties are performedby competent and experienced personnel and in sufficient number,and promptly advice in negative case.
• Participate with Construction Manager inConstruction meetings with Contractors.
• Coördinate the activities of disciplineSupervisors solving interferences and prioritydisputes.
• Together with theMaterial Manager, review the Material Management Plan (includingMaterial Preservation), the status of material delivery,distribution and availability.
• Verify with Field Project Engineers the statusof field changes.
• Timelyinform Construction Manager or Project Manager (in the absence ofConstruction Manager) of all deviations, construction problems orconcerns, that are affecting or could affect the projectexecution.
