Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 523635)

Duties and Responsibilities

perform data analysis on computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics, cytomics and next-generation sequencing to identify genetic and cytome biomarker carry out integrative mechanistic studies in a collaborative environment exploit some of the cutting-edge experimental and computational methods prepare scientific publications, grant proposals and reports provide general administrative and operational support perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Biochemistry, or related disciplines, with at least 1 year’s post-qualification experience research experience in the field of computational biology, machine learning through advanced programming (Matlab, Python or R) high level of expertise in analysis of large and complex datasets excellent written and oral communication skills ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team applicants with less experience or lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I

What We Offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
