JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

The Customs Broker will be responsible for operational customs clearance duties and operational procedures, for import and export goods and shipments to release. Will be responsible for operational excellence, support product initiatives, filling, document processing and customer service function at the national level for import and export release procedures solving critical issues in the operational customs clearance duties and coordination with the Custom local Agent when it is need it.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate duties with local authorities for customs at National Level and fulfill with the operational requirements compliance in guidelines with the supervisor.
  • Awareness to key import and export vertical market in order to work closely with M&S development.
  • To support in sub-contractor management function, supplier and control for agreement and monitoring of their performance (customs agent, clearance and release, etc.)
  • Responsible format filling and filing statement in cooperation with OPS into the country.
  • Work closely with operations partners (AE AI OE OI), customer service department and Sales Team to define necessary product to achieve the targets budgeted.
  • To Work in accordance to the compliance rules and policy.
  • Relation with customers and post landing transportation or inbound.
  • To support sales representatives helping to gather information of potential customers for technical purposes or potential business in customs clearance services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ·Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Certification as a customs broker with national/local scope or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of airfreight product or scope focused in Business.
  • Knowledge and experience in Air & Ocean freight Operations duties.
  • Knowledge in cost control of Customs billing
  • Highly motivated leader who is adept at working in a competitive, challenging and fast-paced work environment.
  • English and Portuguese proficiency language (written and speaking).

ENVIRONMENT: 

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.  Travel will be (up to__ %) required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.  This position requires employee to frequently work in a fluid, fast paced environment.
