Senior Category Buyer

We are seeking a Senior Category Buyer with expertise in sourcing cosmetics. In this role, you will manage long-term international supplier relationships, critically evaluate current suppliers, and continuously seek opportunities to optimize sourcing processes. Additionally, you will lead a small team within your specific category on a daily basis.
Your responsibilities will include driving product innovation, optimizing costs, ensuring quality and sustainability, and collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

BeschrijvingResponsibilities Senior Category Buyer - CosmeticsYour key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee strategic and operational purchasing to ensure high-quality products are delivered on time and under the best commercial terms to support business growth and efficiency;
- Play a pivotal role in product development by collaborating with internal teams to secure optimal sourcing solutions and cost structures from the early stages of new projects;
- Manage supplier relationships, including negotiations, contract oversight, and continuous performance evaluation to maintain strong partnerships;
- Drive procurement improvements by identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing processes throughout product development and supply chain operations;
- Leading a small team in your specific cosmetics category.
The Ideal Candidate:
- 6-9 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management, specifically within the cosmetics industry;
- A bachelor’s degree in fields such as purchasing, business administration, or a related area;
- Proven ability to navigate and work effectively with diverse stakeholders across global regions, demonstrating strong cultural awareness;
- Leadership experience in managing a team focused on sourcing and procurement;
- A highly innovative, analytical, driven, and resilient mindset;
- Hands-on experience with New Product Development (NPD) processes.
A great position in Amsterdam, with a competitive salary around 85k a year, depending on experience and seniority.
