This means understanding how prices are changing for actual dairy products globally and also in the financial markets related to dairy. You'll also need to keep an eye on what's happening economically, politically, and in terms of market and product trends. How do you get this knowledge? Well, you'll be in touch with people in the industry every day, visiting them regularly, and making a real effort to understand local markets.
Your job is to use this knowledge to advise our current and future clients on what to buy and sell, and even help us get new business. You'll be working closely with our sales team to grow and maintain our connections with clients and suppliers.
Here's what you'll be doing:
  • Take charge of clients and suppliers in the markets assigned to you.
  • Give advice to clients and suppliers about what to buy and sell, based on your solid understanding of the market.
  • Actually make deals for buying and selling our dairy products and negotiate the terms.
  • Hunt for and bring in new clients and suppliers.
  • Play a big role in making smart decisions about our position in the market (whether to buy more or sell what we have).
  • Create and manage contracts for buying and selling, working closely with our logistics, quality, and finance teams.
As a Junior Trader, you're a crucial part of making sure our business not only stays strong but keeps growing in the world of dairy.
  • Completed Bachelor's degree (HBO / WO) at a minimum.
  • Demonstrated commercial experience through extracurricular activities or part-time jobs.
  • Maximum 2 years of work experience in trading, but only with dairy products
  • Openness to travel (including international trips) and dedicate significant time to phone calls or in-person visits with clients and suppliers.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Proficiency in German is a must
  • Collaborative team player with a keen eye for detail.
  • Solution-oriented and capable of handling stressful situations.
