Position Overview:
In this role, you will be part of the team responsible for a key risk management activity in the Risk & Compliance domain of Aegon Asset Management global. You will independently or together with other validation experts, review and validate various models across Aegon Asset Management. Through your independent review you will provide assurance on the integrity of models used across Aegon Asset Management. In this role you will also deliver support and advice for all model risk management related activities performed to ensure models are well developed, tested, controlled, and others are enabled to develop robust and fit for purpose models that follow the set-out governance. The team operates globally and validates all models within the global structure.
Responsibilities:
Model Validation : As Model Risk Validator you will perform validations on all types of models (e.g. financial and mathematical models used in pricing, valuations, hedging, research and risk management) to provide assurance on the integrity of models across Aegon Asset Management. Support & Advice Model Risk Management You will provide requested support and advice for the application of the model validation standards to model owners and developers, as well as for other model risk management inquiries, in line with centralized standards, to ensure models are well developed, tested, controlled, and others are enabled to develop robust and models fit for purpose that follow the set-out governance. Reporting Model Validation and Model Risk Management On quarterly basis, you together with the team will prepare comprehensive reports, based on the conclusions of model validation and model risk management work to enable management and/or other stakeholders to make timely decisions on model risk. Continuous Improvement You will evaluate and/or continuously improve design, processes, procedures, and systems to ensure development, transfer, and retention of knowledge within the Model validation team.Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in actuary, finance, economy or related field Academic level of thinking with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience Excellent English written and oral communication skills Experience with model development or testing Programming knowledge, Excel/VBA, Python, R, MATLAB or equivalent programming language to the level that it allows you to review, comprehend and challenge existing code.Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience with either model risk management or model validation in a financial is considered an asset but not required Operational and process risk management knowledge is considered an asset but not required Even when you don't fully comply with the required qualifications but are interested and consider yourself a good fit with the role description, we encourage you to applyWhat will you be getting?
