Global workplace Energy and Sustainability Manager

About this role:
 

As we draw closer to the target year of our Net Zero target (2030) and with new CSRD regulation requiring increased disclosures on emission reduction plans, the need to better manage the electricity, gas, refrigerant and water usage across our group of properties has never been of more importance. This coupled with rising energy prices requires dedicated and specialist resources to help deliver emission and cost reductions as well as improved data collection, quality and reporting.


These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

  • Manage and oversee consumption for the Group properties including, electricity, gas, water, refrigerant and operational waste (across 20 markets)
  • Identify concrete sustainability improvement levers for our buildings including areas such as energy efficiency, waste reduction and improved recycling practices. 
  • Communicate and coordinate implementation of sustainability measures in close collaboration with local facilities teams.
  • Set up and manage a network of sustainability partners within Facilities. Lead and fortify existing relationships with the Responsible Business and Sustainability team to drive progress towards our net zero carbon targets in our facilities and operations
  • Working with both suppliers and landlords of our leased spaces, to own the utility data collection for JET’s carbon footprint and steer respective reduction measures. (eg energy metering strategy, LED lighting projects, optimised control systems etc)
  • Support JETs transition to renewable electricity by engaging with energy suppliers and landlords to switch to renewable power contracts using the support of JET’s procurement team
  • Manage the data collection and management (Through enel x platform) and set up processes to streamline the collection of data and improve data quality provisions. Use this data to identify areas of overuse and reduction of kWh and cost opportunities 
  • Develop a metering strategy to aid the energy management and reporting requirements of the group and build business cases for deployment. 
  • Work with local facilities and finance teams to understand and model the financial impact of the Groups transition to Net Zero in preparation for CSRD reporting requirements. 
  • Serve as a resource for the facilities team and champion sustainability values across the department

What will you bring to the table?

Energy Management:

  • In-depth knowledge of energy conservation techniques and technologies.
  • Ability to conduct energy audits and identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience in developing and implementing energy management plans and strategies.

Sustainability Expertise:

  • Understanding of sustainability principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Ability to develop and implement sustainability programs and initiatives.

Project Management:

  • Strong project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor sustainability projects.
  • Experience in coordinating and leading cross-functional teams.

Data Analysis:

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to track energy usage and environmental performance.
  • Knowledge of relevant software and tools for energy and sustainability reporting.

Renewable Energy Knowledge:

  • Understanding of renewable energy sources and technologies.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement renewable energy solutions.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay updated on local and international regulations related to energy and sustainability.
  • Ensure organisational compliance with relevant laws and standards.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills to convey energy and sustainability goals and achievements to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to create reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Financial Acumen:
  • Budgeting and financial analysis skills for evaluating the cost-effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.

Change Management:

  • Ability to drive cultural change within an organization towards sustainability goals.
  • Experience in implementing and managing change initiatives.

Technology Proficiency:

  • Familiarity with energy management systems, building automation, and other relevant technologies.
  • Ability to leverage technology for improved energy efficiency.

Global Perspective:

  • Understanding of regional differences in energy availability, costs, and sustainability challenges.

Continuous Learning:

  • Willingness to stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in energy and sustainability.
