Technical Manager I

Technical Manager I in the Project Division of the Estates Office (Ref.: 524149) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary).
Applicants should possess a Bachelor degree in Building Services (Electrical & Mechanical) / Building Construction or equivalent with at least 5 years’ relevant experience at supervisory level in project planning, management and site supervision. Those with experience in large scale institution projects and laboratory/research facilities would have a distinct advantage. They should have good communication skills and working knowledge of computer software. Possession of a valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) issued in accordance with Chapter 59 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (i.e. by attending the relevant safety training courses which are recognized by the Commissioner for Labour) or equivalent, is required.
The appointee will have the opportunity to participate in works of a range of facilities including academic, teaching and learning, research, residential, high-end technology and sustainability. The appointee will have to be all-round professional and assume comprehensive project duties from inception to post-completion. He/She will also be responsible for exercising budget, programme and quality controls; carrying out design feasibility studies; coordinating with various parties including consultants, government authorities, internal user groups, and in-house bodies in relation to project execution.
