Senior Azure Platform Engineer

Our Multinational Distribution Client, with more than 200 years of experience in the supply chain industry, is looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to further strengthen its engineering capabilities and support/drive an ambitious cloud transformation program. You will join the cloud platform team delivering a state-of-the-art cloud platform (based on Azure cloud) to our development teams to deliver value for our businesses. The ideal candidate brings a wide range of technical knowledge and experience and wants to operate in a technical role focused on the Azure cloud.   • Build capabilities allowing for fast and reliable software development and release for our development teams.
  • Work closely with operations and development teams to implement scalable and high-performance solutions on our cloud platform.
  • Define platform monitoring requirements and implement automated incident resolution solutions.
  • Provide analytics & forecasts for platform capacity needs, adjusting for added or reduced capacity as required.
  • Ensure all systems are fully documented and comply with our internal standards.
  • Manage Azure instances such as API management (APIM), Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Storage, and RBAC.
  • Take ownership of issues, handle them with urgency, and resolve them within SLA levels.
  • Work closely with teams to drive adoption of engineering best practices, enabling efficient operations and high-quality deliverables.
  • Identify areas for process and efficiency improvements within the platform, recommend solutions, and oversee implementation.
  • Work directly with the development teams to ensure all required infrastructure components are provisioned in a secure and automated way.
  • Actively drive standardization and further improvement of existing development practices and processes.
  • Manage CI and CD tools to ensure they function as expected for the team.
  • Assist in debugging code, resolving issues in Azure environments, and providing support to developers.
  • Handle code deployments, build and release strategy, and automation tools for infrastructure provisioning.
  • Ensure systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
  • Participate in technical review meetings and provide input to guarantee best practices.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.
Requirements:
  • Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer and/or Information Technology.
  • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification preferred.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in platform engineering is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code tools like Bicep.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Cloud Services (API management, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Storage).
  • Familiarity with networking (e.g., TCP/IP, Router and Firewall management).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki and SD-WAN.
  • Understanding of Azure security products (e.g., Defender for Cloud).
  • Background in international or remote team collaboration.
