Job Description

As a Lab Technician at Lonza Netherlands, formerly PharmaCel, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process of cell therapy products. Working in compliance with GMP regulations within a cleanroom environment, your responsibilities will include executing various procedures such as sample preparation, media preparation, and tool box preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting culture activities for cell therapy, overseeing the entire process from starting material to final products.
  • Thoroughly reporting and reviewing all required process steps in approved batch records.
  • Timely notification of supervisors regarding any observed deviations from standard procedures.
  • Ensuring cleanliness in production areas through regular cleaning procedures.
  • Assisting in the qualification of equipment used in manufacturing processes.
  • Supporting logistic activities within the facility.

Lonza Netherlands is a leading contract manufacturing organization for cellular therapies in Europe, equipped with two state-of-the-art full-scale GMP cell manufacturing facilities in Geleen. We support all phases of clinical development, from process optimization to phase I to phase III clinical trial manufacturing.

Job Requirements

The following qualifications are desired:

  • Completed education in science, biotech, or a related field.
  • No prior working experience required.
  • Proficiency in the English language (both verbal and written).
  • Experience with cell culturing, either through education or work.
  • Availability to work daytime shifts as well as 5 shifts (2-2-2).


Salary and Benefits
  • Starting salary ranging from €2,500 to €3,000.
  • Full-time employment with the potential for long-term opportunities.
  • Direct employment with Lonza, initially starting with a 7-month contract, with the possibility of a permanent contract based on performance.
  • Travel expenses covered.
