Purchasing Specialist (24-32 hours)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced and conscientious Purchasing Specialist to join our team. You will be part of a small, collaborative Supply Chain Management team. Your colleagues are responsible for warehousing, order fulfilment and logistics. You will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating with (preferred) suppliers to obtain the best possible prices and terms for goods and services. You will also be tasked with maintaining strong relationships with vendors and ensuring timely delivery of purchased items. The Purchasing Specialist will take care of the company wide purchasing activities and look to optimize the procurement processes.

What are you going to do?

• Responsible for setting up, managing, and optimizing general purchasing activities within the company.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with (preferred) suppliers to obtain competitive prices and terms.
• Create and maintain purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Align on inventory levels and coordinate with various departments to fulfill procurement needs.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, resolving any issues that may arise.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company objectives.
• Supplier selection for a business travel contract.

This is you:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Specialist or similar role.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a developing environment.
• Certification in purchasing, vendor management and/or supply chain management is a plus.
• Affinity with purchasing second hand cars is a plus.
