SBM Offshore owns and operates the world’s largest fleet of FPSO’s which recently achieved more than 1 million barrels of oil per day. SBM Offshore has five Regional Centers, eleven operational shore bases, joint ventures with several construction yards and an offshore fleet of vessels, with a total staff of approx. 7000 employees.


SBM Schiedam B.V. is one of SBM’s Regional Centers and is involved in the EPC delivery of FPSO’s and FLNG’s.

The discipline Naval Architecture has the task to provide Naval Architectural Engineering and Design to the Group Product Lines (containing of studies, proposals, technology development, Pre-FEED projects, FEED projects and EPCI projects). The typical scope of the discipline Naval Architecture includes loading and stability, accommodation design, deck equipment and lifesaving equipment, support to the shipyard bidding process and SBM procurement, inclining experiments, etc. The discipline Naval Architecture also provides major contribution to the overall design of the floater, especially for new build projects and in the concept phase of projects. Currently we are looking for a Jr. Naval Architect to reinforce the discipline of Naval Architecture.

Job description

In the role of Jr. Naval Architect you will be taking the role on projects covering the scope of the discipline Naval Architecture to deliver high-quality and cost-effective designs of SBM products. You will particularly focus on SBM’s FPSOs products.

Job requirements

SBM Schiedam is looking for candidates who just received an MSc or BSc degree or equivalent (i.e. Professional Certification) in Naval Architecture.
