We are looking for someone who supports us in various areas:
Develop and strengthen the risk and internal control function to support the organization's compliance with governance and regulatory requirements and obligations Further developing and managing the internal control framework (policies, processes and procedures) Regular comprehensive risk and process analysis to ensure accurate design of controls and definition of mitigating actions in all critical areas Periodic review procedures to validate the design and operating effectiveness of controls and recommend mitigation and remediation actions where necessary Implementing improvements to internal control processes and systems to increase efficiency, data quality and employee engagement, as well as reduce complexity and eliminate manual work. Regularly monitor the status of control implementation and report to key stakeholders Prepare, organize, follow-up and conclude on the corporate & local letter of representation process Organize and deliver control training, workshops and consultancy Liaise with external auditors and other regulators to facilitate requests, follow up and monitor findings Support internal control awareness within the organization
Your profile and background
Academic working and thinking level and a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or related study areas Holder of relevant qualification or qualification in progress (e.g. Post master’s degree in Accounting ,RA, RO, ACCA, CIMA, CIA) Ideally several years of working experience in a globally operating industrial company or Big4 or similar Substantial experience (7+ years) in internal control, auditing or risk management, especially in control design, control testing and consulting of business process owners and IT operations. Exposure and experience in key steps of the internal control process, i.e. risk assessment, financial / non-financial scoping, control design, control testing, follow-up of action plans, (corporate) reporting and letters of representation Familiarity with control environment of ERP systems (particularly SAP S/4HANA) Advanced knowledge of national and international reporting standards Exposure to and experience in financial and non-financial reporting, incl. CSRD Project management skills with ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously and collaborating with cross functional teams Well-organized, self-directed, driven team player with excellent people skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels and cultures Strong analytical competence and the ability to break down complex topics into easy-to-understand opportunities and initiatives for the organization Strategic and purposeful with a strong business orientation who can react quickly and effectively to changing circumstances Strong orientation for quality, accuracy and detail Very good written and spoken English and Dutch is a plus
