How do you make our customers happy?

By ensuring the right insights land where they should: at the right teams. Together with your squad mates at Team Insights, you’ll develop and optimize a fast, reliable, secure, and highly available observability platform for a multitude of internal teams. Chief among these are our application development teams. Expect a discerning audience. And rightly so, because the observability platform empowers application teams to efficiently troubleshoot, debug, and monitor applications. Are you ready to step up to the plate?

What you’ll do as a Platform Engineer at Team Insights

Observability (metrics, logging, and tracing) is critical to ensuring that services can withstand the rigors of high demand and load. As such, you provide the entire organization with a crucial platform encompassing two major (and majorly critical) parts: logging and metrics. Our logging capabilities are built on ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana). (Y)our team is jointly responsible for all components and pipelines that ingest, transform, and index data, and for disseminating data to the application teams. Our second product is the metrics platform. This runs on Grafana and Prometheus and is the foundation for all the tools our application teams require to monitor their applications, create alerts, and gain valuable insights into app performance. We run tools like OpsGenie on this platform to instantly alert teams to potential issues.

Contribute to our ongoing cloud migration and help us reposition applications from on-prem to the public (GCP) cloud. Help us develop, improve, and optimize our logging and metrics platforms. Everyone on the team participates in optimizing the architecture and solutions. Join our on-call rotation to help troubleshoot issues. Every week, a different engineer supports our users and troubleshoots any and all issues if the alarm goes off. Provide business-critical products at a high-profile brand, working with a mature stack in a high-demand, high-load environment where copious amounts of data must be ingested and processed.

You’ll be joining a team of six colleagues: three platform engineers, a tech lead, a product manager, and an engineering manager. Our team works on a “freedom within a framework” basis. E.g., with considerable autonomy to determine how we work, what to prioritize and what tech and solutions to employ. We love to cooperate closely and have fun along the way.
