With our white label solution we are able to provide networks, communities, organisations and ecosystems of all sizes a digital home that really adds value. We offer a space dedicated to sharing knowledge and experience.


We are hiring an experienced React Developer to join our tech team in building our development team, developing and supporting several production codebases. The contract is for an initial term of 2 months with a possible 1 month extension.


What does the StellarUp Technical team do?


StellarUp is a rapidly growing Saas solution for in-house mentoring, matching and community building. StellarUp also provides technical services for other companies owned by our investors. The team currently consists of the CTO and a team of three Developers and a Designer - and it’s now time to grow further


The StellarUp product has been built in Ruby on Rails and is hosted within the AWS ecosystem, but new projects see us working in Azure and GCP and developing in React, Go and other technologies.


As the next developer to join the team, you will head straight into the development of Fiona, a microblogging platform and contributing to another project building a dashboard mobile app for an alternative energy company.


Our technical team embraces challenges, works closely together and builds awesome products


How will you spend your days?

  • Start the day with a quick standup to discuss progress and prioritisation

  • Provide timely technical support for our existing and rapidly growing customer base

  • Have regular interaction with our Customer Support Team

  • Scoping, prioritising and developing new features and modules from our development backlogs

  • Develop effective testing strategies

  • Working closely with the customer support team to ensure we are delivering the best support possible

  • Helping build a complete set of technical documentation

  • And of course, develop awesome code



Some of the skills you’ll need to bring with you:

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+)

  • Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles

  • Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX, or Recoil)

  • Experience with RESTful APIs

  • Solid understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility

  • Proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

  • Knowledge of testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library)

  • Familiarity with build tools and package managers (e.g., Webpack, npm, yarn)

  • Understanding of code optimization and performance tuning

  • Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues


Some other skills that will we’d love to see:

  • Experience with React Native and mobile app development

  • Experience with TypeScript

  • Knowledge of server-side rendering (e.g., Next.js)

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker)

  • Knowledge of progressive web apps (PWAs)

  • Familiarity with mobile app deployment processes (App Store, Google Play)
