About the job
Onera is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Electronics Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining electronic systems and components for our medical devices. This role requires a strong understanding of electronics engineering principles, medical device regulations, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team of biomedical engineers, signal processing and algorithm experts, software developers and clinicians.

Key Responsibilities
You will be part of a multidisciplinary, energetic, young and internationally-minded start-up team.
Design and Development:
- Develop electronic circuits and systems for medical devices, including multiple sensors, DSP/microcontrollers and wireless communication.
- Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts.
- Ensure designs comply with medical device regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 60601).
Testing and Validation:
- Develop and execute test plans to validate the performance and safety of electronic components.
- Perform troubleshooting and debugging of electronic circuits and systems, including board bring-up, design of test tooling and adaptation of existing platforms to new specifications.
- Document test results and prepare technical reports.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and regulatory affairs, to integrate electronic components into medical devices.
- Generate and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, validation protocols, and user manuals.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all electronic components and systems meet relevant regulatory and safety standards.
- Participate in risk management activities and ensure compliance with risk management procedures.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in electronics engineering and medical device technology.
- Identify opportunities for design improvements and cost reductions.
Requirements
Your Profile - What You'll Bring
- An enthusiastic engineer with a passion for electronics and medical devices.
- MSc or BSc degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or similar
- Over 3 years’ experience in low-power electronic system design, preferably in the field of wireless sensors.
- Experience in the field of biomedical devices and biomedical sensing.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, DFT and DFM techniques.
- Experience in troubleshooting, patching and board bring-up in miniaturized designs.
- Experience in hardware development in accordance with medical device regulations.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
- Positive attitude, can-do mentality and flexibility – much needed in a start-up
