FunctieomschrijvingThe Senior Engineering and Maintenance ITTechnician plays a pivotal role in the Digital Turnaround HardwareSupport Team, overseeing the implementation, maintenance, andtroubleshooting of digital tools and hardware.
This senior-level position ensures field workershave the necessary technology and information to perform theirtasks effectively during all phases of Turnaround, while offeringLevel 1 system support and taking the lead in planning andfacilitation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support Digital Operations: Deploy and maintainkey tools like W&AV, Wrench Time Analysis, eSWP, and PTTPhones, providing Level 1 support and troubleshooting to ensuresmooth operation.
• Planning& Facilitation: Collaborate with local teams during FEL toimplement digital tools, plan resources, schedules, and ensureproper equipment availability.
• Hardware & System Management: Overseehardware such as mobile kiosks, wireless access points, BLEdevices, RFID, and solar arrays, ensuring all equipment isoperational and maintained.
•Leadership & Mentoring: Guide less experienced team members,providing technical expertise, while managing tool storage,inventory, and quality control.
• Process Improvement: Lead documentation of workprocesses and troubleshooting, driving improvements for smootheroperations.
• Digital KitManagement: Manage the preparation of digital kits (devices,kiosks, wireless infrastructure) for Turnaroundprojects.
• Field Support:Travel extensively to sites in Spain, Germany, Netherlands, and theUSA to provide on-site support and resolve technicalissues.
• Training &Knowledge Transfer: Provide ongoing training on digital tools toensure the team maximizes the technology's impact duringTurnaround.
TravelRequirements:
Extensive travelto various Petro Chemical sites is required to provide on-sitesupport during Turnaround projects, including preparation,execution, and post-execution phases.
This senior-level role is ideal forsomeone with extensive experience in digital hardware and toolmanagement, strong leadership skills, and a collaborative,self-directed work style. You'll be a key player in ensuring thesuccess of Turnaround activities globally, while mentoring andguiding the team in technicalexcellence.
• Education: MBO level 4 or higher inElectrical & Instrumentation (E&I), or a related technicalfield. Advanced technical education and expertise are required dueto the senior nature of the role.
• IT Skills: A solid understanding of IT systemsis preferred, with a focus on Level 1 support for digital tools.Proficiency in troubleshooting and supporting a range of hardwareand digital systems (e.g., mobile devices, wireless access points,BLE devices) is essential.
•Experience: Previous experience in engineering or maintenance witha focus on IT support for field operations is a must. The candidateshould have considerable on-the-job experience handling technicalprocesses and leading team activities.
• Leadership & People Skills: Strong peoplemanagement skills and the ability to mentor and guide lessexperienced team members. Must be comfortable taking a leadershiprole in facilitating planning and tool implementation acrossteams.
• Communication:Excellent communication skills are necessary for interacting withteam members, site leaders, and stakeholders. Must be proficient inEnglish; Dutch is a plus.
•Hands-On Mentality: A practical, hands-on approach is critical formanaging the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting ofdigital tools and hardware during Turnaroundprojects.
• Travel: Thisposition requires extensive travel to various North American andInternational sites, as you will provide on-site support during allphases of Turnaround projects.
• This senior-level role is ideal for candidateswho have a mix of technical expertise, IT knowledge, and leadershipskills, and who are ready to play a key role in supporting andimproving Turnaround operationsglobally.
