BAS has revolutionized the global trade of commercial vehicles and machinery. Working closely with our partners both big and small, we facilitate commercial trading via the BAS World marketplace and support team. With the advent of the e-commerce platform BAS World we aim to transform and scale up our business to revolutionize how business is done in this industry. By building a Retail platform, IT engineering is at the heart of BAS World. This e-commerce platform will flawlessly integrate all processes of the buying and selling of trucks without having to physically check in and out in Veghel – the Netherlands.
With the feature teams evolving into product teams, it is time to look at the Engineering Manager (EM), as part of the leadership of (at least) one pillars (Buying/Selling/Operations & Support).
The Engineering Manager primary focus is having the product team deliver reliable and future ready technical solutions in the pillar. This includes (1) delivery and operational responsibility, (2) team dynamics and craft- and personal development for the IT professionals and (3) IT vision/strategy for the pillar. By having people and product responsibilities integrated in the EM role we drive technical quality and efficiency through technical guidance and coaching of IT professionals, maximizing alignment of product teams to the pillars vision

- Bachelor/Master in Computer science, Data science, Information technology degree or a proven track record;
- 5-10 years relevant work experience and now on a senior Engineering Manager level;
- An agile mindset (experience in agile projects);
- Supportive tot the teams;
- Experience with building effective autonomous teams;
- Experience with attracting and developing talent (coaching);
- Experience with building a scalable technical vision (e.g. micro services, cloud);
- Experience with project management (proven track record in delivery of projects/programs);
- Experience with writing production-level code, preferably with AWS (understanding the cloud native architectural framework) is a pré;
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
Furthermore you have the ability to
- participate in an IT Management Team;
- coach a pillar (group of product teams) to a better outcome;
- work in a scalable dynamic working environment (a company with a rapidly changing work environment);
- co-create and to add value within a pillar leadership team and strives to improve current ways of working.
