All about the role 

As our Senior Data Governance Product Owner, you will own the tooling and processes that enable the Data Governance Framework to meet corporate standards, best practices, and internal control requirements. This framework includes elements like the Data Catalog, Business Glossary, Data Access, Data Quality, etc… 

You will be part of the Data & Analytics (DNA) department reporting to the Data Governance Manager, supporting DNA management and collaborating with data stakeholders across the company to encourage a data culture and promote data-driven decisions. 

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to:

  • Own the roadmap for the Data Catalog tool (Datahub), including backlog prioritisation of feature requests, bugs, etc…
  • Lead the Data Quality initiative across DNA, including the successful implementation of the Data Quality Framework and support in the root cause analysis of Data Quality issues
  • Support in the deployment and adoption of a JET-wide Business Glossary
  • Promote the implementation of the Data Ownership and the Data Access Framework, based on internal JET policies and requirements
  • Develop Data Governance training that increases awareness and best practices
  • Improve the Data Governance Framework to adapt to changing business and compliance requirements
  • Identify risks within data platform projects and develop plans to eliminate, control, or monitor them
  • Make recommendations that add value to the business area or process under review, including amendments to data policies and procedures
  • Provide subject matter expertise to DNA, Information Security department, and the Risk and Control team on control design, implementation, execution, and standardisation

Here are the skills and experience we need from you:

To perform in this role optimally we feel that you need the following requirements:

  • Prior experience includes 5+ years in Data Governance and Product roles preferably in fast paced tech companies
  • Ability to assess programming scripts (SQL,  Python)
  • Experience working with a Data Governance tool, either proprietary, open source or developed in-house is a plus
  • Ability to lead, facilitate, and organise diverse stakeholders to achieve business results following Agile methodologies (JIRA skills preferred)
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) as well as good organisational and interpersonal skills and being a team player
  • Very good understanding of the technology landscape. Even greater if that includes data platforms, data governance tools, warehouses and Data & Analytics in general
  • Experience working with the DAMA Framework is a plus. 
  • Fluency in English language
