The KTI-EU organization is a newly established department focusing on technology development for digital solutions and systems in agriculture, from both a fundamental and applied research perspective. The department bridges the gap between market research, collaborations & technology mapping (driven by our Innovation Center Europe) and product development (done by our R&D centers, like Kubota Research and Development Europe and Kverneland Group). The KTI department’s primary focus is on the European market, but in collaboration with the global organization and other regional offices, such as KTI-SV (Silicon Valley, USA) to align and coordinate global initiatives.
In this context, and in order to strengthen our team, we are looking to recruit a System Engineer for Autonomous Implements in our office in Nieuw-Vennep, the Netherlands. You will be working on implementing new technologies on our agricultural implements to monitor their health (diagnostics) and performance, and in order to make them more reliable towards operation without a human operator. To achieve this, more sensors, mechanical mechanisms and software algorithms should be developed and implemented. You will be working on sensor selection, sensor data analysis, intellectual property support, and algorithm and feature validation. Together with your team and the involved stakeholders, features should be prioritized and developed into a proof of concept.
You will be working with all Kubota Group companies our Business Unit Tractors and Business Unit Agricultural Implements. This includes having frequent contact with the related departments which are located across Europe, but also North America and Japan.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate in a cross-functional team. Determine requirements for autonomous implement features. Collect & define customer requirements Gather field data, develop algorithms to analyze implement diagnostics and performance. Evaluate sensor performance Prototyping features. Support for on-site prototype verification of soft- and hardware. Contribute in hardware and sensor selection. Record and communicate necessary activities: including preparation, execution, and recording of meetings, presentations, and gatherings concerning assigned projects.We need:
Bachelor or Master degree (HBO/WO) in Engineering (e.g., Bio-systems, Sensors , Mechanical, or Electronics) , or other technical domains. Previous System Engineer experience, particularly with electronic systems . Understanding of agronomy . Experience with sensors and data analysis (Python, Matlab, other..) Strong ability to communicate (with different engineering teams) Strong command of English Willingness to travel within and outside of Europe to support the execution of international projects.We value:
