Overview

The Front Line Manager Production (FLM) is the key role in the production process and part of the logistic process, as he leads his team of (processing, packaging) operators.Contribute to business success through the implementation and monitoring of processing or packaging plans within performance requirements.The FLM is accountable for his team to attain all KPI’s in the cost, quality, health, safety, service and people sectors through leading, motivating and developing front line employees.The FLM is responsible for a diverse team of approximately 20 - 25 frontline employees (process and packaging operators)

Responsibilities

Job purpose and principal accountabilities

To plan, co-ordinate and control all activities on shift to ensure the efficient operation of the shift to meet the production plan with the right quality product at the right time. To ensure continuous improvement within area of responsibility whilst leading and developing employees.

Operating as part of a site team of FLM’s although responsible for running the shift as the sole Line Manager in our PC (Potato Chips) department. To set standards by organising shift running from production schedules (manning, materials, changeovers etc.)2FLM 2024 HAY5 To ensure the optimum utilisation of shift labour by effective labour planning and training and development of employees. To monitor line efficiencies ensuring targets are met and improved on. Responsibility for all elements of employee Health, Safety and Welfare. To manage a balanced scorecard in the following areas:- Quality: consumer complaints, quality walls (taste tests), food hygiene audits- Cost: outputs, kilograms per labour hour, overhead costs- Materials: yield, wastage- People: safety, absence, discipline, development- Service: shift service levels / production versus plan

Accountabilities

Responsible for targets on personal safety, food safety, food quality, efficiency and service Responsible for team people processes and procedures (talent development, employee relations, and managing absenteeism). Managing and executing Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Investment projects Qualifications (Post)graduate degree or equivalent work experience Experience of working within a food/beverage manufacturing or FMCG environment is 2024 HAY5 Preferred: Management and leadership experience, with a proven management style focused on coaching and mentoring and direct behavioral management. You're a productive communicator, tolerant with people and processesand wait for others to catch up before acting. You're assertive, independent and self-sufficient, with the ability to cope effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines. You have a passion for lean manufacturing processes and anunderstanding of continuous improvement. You don't mind working in a 3-shift pattern.
