Position: Technical Superintendent (Rotterdam, Netherlands)

The Adventure Awaits:

As a Technical Superintendent (TSI) at Smit Lamnalco, you are not just managing the technical aspects of our vessels; you are steering the future of maritime excellence.

Based in the dynamic city of Rotterdam, this role is your opportunity to make a significant impact across our Africa/Europe operations.

Your Role:

  • Champion of Maintenance: Lead the charge in maintaining our fleet, ensuring our vessels are in top-notch condition. You'll be the maestro coordinating maintenance works and upholding quality standards that set us apart.
  • Strategic Planner: Mastermind the scheduling, overseeing of repairs, inspections, and dockings. You'll also be at the helm of crafting comprehensive technical and financial reports.
  • Technical Liaison: Be the go-to person for our diverse international crew, offering solutions and advice on technical challenges.
  • Mentor & Supervisor: Provide guidance and supervision to Chief Engineers, shaping the future of our technical staff.
  • System Maestro: Utilize the PM System (MARAD) to keep a vigilant eye on maintenance progress and quality.
  • Problem Solver: Investigate technical issues and implement both preventive and corrective measures swiftly.
  • Quality Inspector: Conduct thorough inspections and coordinate surveys, ensuring compliance and excellence.
  • Financial Steward: Manage maintenance budgets with a keen eye, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality.
  • Network Builder: Collaborate with suppliers, classification societies, and other external parties to foster strong relationships.
  • Documentation Guardian: Keep our ship certificates and technical documents up-to-date, ensuring we're always audit-ready.
  • Damage Control Expert: Efficiently handle damage reports and claims, safeguarding our interests.

Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • Maritime or technical bachelor's degree.
  • A seasoned professional with at least 2-4 years of experience.
  • An ETO background is plus.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Based in the Netherlands.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for the maritime industry.
  • Love to travel to the vessels and oversee the maintenance
