What will be your role?
The Dutch Defence organization is continuously updating its ways of working and operations, with information at the core. This, combined with new technological possibilities, creates intriguing challenges. Think of developing technical IT building blocks and IT architectures that align information processing with business processes effectively. You will play a crucial role in this. Working on multiple projects simultaneously, you will develop new architectures and concepts in collaboration with colleagues and clients. You will integrate the ideas of colleagues and partners into solutions for Defence’s challenges, linking business operations, military activities, and information technology.
Your home base at TNO Within Advanced Computing Engineering, we demonstrate the feasibility and value of innovative IT applications for both business and government. We tackle challenges related to automatic data acquisition, storage, retrieval, and analysis of large datasets, predictive analytics, large-scale simulations, and the interaction between people and complex data processing systems. Our teams in The Hague consist of over fifty experts, a mix of applied researchers, system architects, and IT system and process consultants. What we expect from you
You see it as an exciting challenge to guide the client and structure and analyze their problems or questions from different perspectives. You can translate which perspective is relevant in the given situation and best suits the various stakeholders. You enjoy visiting clients regularly and are not afraid to hold up a mirror to them when necessary, pointing out inconsistencies or lack of detail, and occasionally playing the devil’s advocate. You also work well in a team. Additionally, you bring:
A Master’s degree or PhD in computer science, technical business administration, business information technology, or a similar field. Experience with enterprise architecture approaches to translate business and information needs into IT system configurations. Several years of work experience. Preferably, knowledge of the Defence organization, its operational processes, and ICT systems (C4I), or the drive to learn about them.
