Senior Machine Learning Researcher

Amsterdam, Netherlands (Hybrid)

IC Resources is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Researcher to join our client's team in Amsterdam. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the state-of-the-art in Generative AI by developing cutting-edge deep learning algorithms and engaging in fundamental research to drive innovation across various applications.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Innovative Research: Develop and rapidly iterate on new research ideas in Generative AI, including large language models (LLMs) and reinforcement learning, to solve complex problem-solving tasks.
  • Algorithm Development: Create and implement advanced deep learning algorithms, contributing to the improvement of AI capabilities in perception, reasoning, and action.
  • Research Collaboration: Work closely with other researchers and engineers to prototype, refine, and publish research findings at major scientific conferences.
  • Impact and Deployment: Engage with cross-functional teams to see your research ideas deployed across millions of devices, such as mobile phones, AR/VR headsets, and autonomous vehicles.
  • Documentation and Communication: Produce detailed documentation and present your work to internal teams and at external conferences to share knowledge and foster collaboration.
Essential Experience:
  • Educational Background: PhD or Master’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in machine learning, deep learning, and/or reinforcement learning, with hands-on programming experience in Python and familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Jax.
  • Research Skills: Ability to formulate research problems, design experiments, and implement solutions to advance AI research.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to document research processes and outcomes, and to present findings at scientific conferences.
Desired Experience:
  • Publication Record: A track record of publishing research in major machine learning conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR).
  • Foundation Models: Hands-on experience with foundation models, such as LLMs or latent variable models (LVMs).
  • Coding Skills: Experience in writing clean, maintainable code for research purposes.
  • Research Lab Experience: Previous experience working in an academic or industry research lab setting.
