An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Accountant to join a dynamic and innovative shipping and logistics group. What you'll do:

As a Medior Accountant, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial department. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting with various closing processes, recording bank journals, monitoring cash positions, and managing account payables and receivables. You will also contribute to the preparation of various declarations and perform general ledger reconciliation. Your role will extend beyond these tasks as you communicate and cooperate with other departments to gather necessary information. Additionally, you will provide administrative support by preparing SOX control reports, following up on balance accounts, assisting with audit preparations, and participating in ad-hoc projects.

  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly and year-end closings
  • Record bank journals and prepare payment proposals
  • Monitor cash position and fund request
  • Register and follow-up balances of the accounts payables and receivables
  • Contribute to the preparation of declarations such as VAT & others
  • Perform General Ledger Reconciliation
  • Communicate & cooperate with other colleagues and departments as necessary to get required information
  • Provide other administrative support such as preparing SOX control reports, follow-up balance accounts, assist with preparation of audit process and in ad-hoc projects

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Junior Accountant position brings a wealth of skills and qualifications. You will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience, preferably with 2 or 3 years of experience in Accounting. Experience in the Shipping industry is a plus. Your excellent MS Office knowledge and reporting skills will be crucial in this role, and experience with Oracle NetSuite will be advantageous. A good understanding of NL GAAP is required. You are known for your attention to detail, discretion, reliability, and sense of responsibility. You enjoy working with figures and are eager to learn. As a team player with good communication skills, you can also work independently and in a structured way.

  • Bachelor degree in accounting or equivalent experience
  • Preferably 2 or 3 years of experience in Accounting; Shipping industry experience is a plus
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge and reporting skills
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite is advantageous
  • Good knowledge of NL GAAP
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining an overview
  • Discretion and reliability are essential for this role
  • Sense of responsibility and commitment
  • Precise, enjoys working with figures and eager to learn
  • Team player with good communication skills; ability to work independently and in a structured way
