(Senior) Compliance Counsel

For our client, Fugro, we are looking for a (Senior) Compliance Counsel to join the Legal & Compliance team at their global headquarters in Leidschendam.

Your role

Reporting to the Global Compliance Manager, you will further shape and build the global Compliance Program and provide direction and leadership on ethics and compliance. You will:

  • Act as centre of expertise in compliance matters (Code of Conduct, Speak Up, Anti Bribery/ corruption, Data Protection, Sanctions, etc.);
  • Enhance compliance policies and procedures;
  • Lead communication initiatives;
  • Identify training needs and facilitate workshops;
  • Further develop the global Speak-up Program;
  • Conduct internal (Speak Up) investigations;
  • Drive third party compliance due diligence;
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments;
  • Stay ahead of the latest Compliance developments;
  • Support biannual reporting to the Audit Committee.

Your background

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience, preferably obtained in-house, law enforcement agency, or law firm, including compliance policy development, investigations and training.
  • Strong knowledge key compliance legislation and best practices.
  • Law degree strongly preferred.
  • An understanding of data protection law is preferred, but not required.
  • Fluent in (written & spoken) English.
  • Sporadic International travel may be required.
