Als Network Engineer ben je onderdeel van het Engineering team. Dit team is verantwoordelijk voor de implementatie en het beheer van de diensten die Interconnect aanbiedt. Het team bestaat uit diverse disciplines (Cloud, Network en Intern Systeembeheer), die rapporteren aan de Teamleider Engineering.

Als Netwerk Engineer bij Interconnect werk je in ons op Juniper gebaseerde core netwerk waarin de datacenters in Den Bosch en Eindhoven met elkaar in verbinding staan via 2 geografisch gescheiden glasvezelverbindingen die Interconnect zelf belicht middels DWDM’s.

Dit is wat je gaat doen:

Je zet verbindingen op met eindklanten en andere partijen buiten het core netwerk op basis van BGP. Je voert updates uit op netwerk devices in het productienetwerk, op een zodanige wijze dat er geen hinder ontstaat voor het dataverkeer van Interconnect en/of haar klanten. Je weet voldoende van VMware om de netwerk ontsluiting naar het core netwerk te kunnen doorgronden en om je collega’s die de IaaS (en sinds kort ook: PaaS) diensten beheren, bij te staan met raad en daad. Voor je collega’s van het Customer Service Team (CST) ben jij het eindstation voor netwerk gerelateerde technische vragen.

Bij onderhoud aan ons core netwerk ‘blijft de winkel gewoon open’. Je kunt als engineer goed overweg met de druk die hiermee is gemoeid, en weet exact welke maatregelen ervoor zorgen dat onderhoud de productie processen op geen enkele manier onderbreekt; Het uitdenken en maken van complexe delen van de netwerk infrastructuur waarbij je rekening houdt met zaken als redundantie, fault-tolerance en schaalbaarheid; Je schakelt regelmatig met onze leveranciers over de producten die wij afnemen, dit kan gaan over de garantie(afhandeling) die zij afgeven bij een storing of update- en upgradetrajecten; Technisch advies geven aan accountmanagers, deze adviezen gaan vaak over de onboarding van nieuwe klanten en de praktische haalbaarheid van een uitgedacht concept; Opzetten en uitvoeren van implementaties, upgrades en verbeter projecten.

Minimaal 4 jaar ervaring op het gebied van Network Engineering bij voorkeur met Juniper (MX / QFX / EX / SRX), maar ervaring met Cisco kan zeker ook. Je kunt dit aantonen met een actief JNCIS, JNCIP, CCNA of CCNP-certificaat. Heb je deze nog niet, maar heb je wel de intellectuele bagage en interesse om je te ontwikkelen tot onze netwerkspecialist dan wordt dit ongetwijfeld onderdeel van je persoonlijk ontwikkel plan. Theoretische kennis van BGP, interne routing protocollen (OSPF) en EVPN-VXLAN is een grote pre. Je bent voor 32-40 uur per week beschikbaar en bereid om storingsdienst te draaien.

Interconnect is Data en Cloud center met eigen state of the art Tier III+ datacenters in ’s-Hertogenbosch en Eindhoven.
