For our client in the renewable energy industry, Eurus Energy Europe B.V. (EEE), we are looking for a Legal Counsel to join the legal department in Amsterdam in order to enhance its support for EEE’s, business development and asset management activities in Europe together with legal support for corporate matters. The European Legal team currently consists of three members and is actively and directly involved in all stages of the development, construction and long-term management of a great variety of renewable energy projects throughout Europe, including wind, solar, battery and hydrogen projects.
About the role:
EEE is seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. This role primarily involves providing comprehensive legal support for the development, construction, and management of renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in drafting and negotiating project documents, advising on statutory and regulatory matters, and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the Legal Counsel will manage corporate housekeeping duties, ensuring that corporate governance and record-keeping are meticulously maintained in accordance with legal requirements. In line with EEE Hybrid Work Policy, the legal counsel is expected to work 2 days per week at the office. EEE office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Documentation & Negotiation:
o Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of project-related documents, including contracts, agreements, and other legal instruments.
o Provide legal support during commercial negotiations to ensure that project documents align with legal standards and business objectives.
* Regulatory Compliance & Advisory:
o Advise on statutory and regulatory issues related to renewable energy projects, including permitting, environmental regulations, and industry-specific requirements.
o Ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations.
o Support the legal team in maintaining legal and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions where EEE operates.
* Corporate Housekeeping:
o Manage corporate governance matters, including the preparation and maintenance of corporate records, filings, and reports.
o Ensure the legal entity structure remains compliant with local and international laws.
* Legal Team Support:
o Assist the legal department in various activities, including the preparation of training materials, legal updates, and know-how documentation.
o Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that legal considerations are integrated into business strategies.
* Cross-Border Collaboration:
o Provide legal support to projects and initiatives that span multiple countries, including occasional travel as needed to support these activities.
About you:
Required
– Relevant work experience for 4-7 years, particularly in business transactions and drafting and reviewing contracts in English and preferably within a renowned law firm
– Qualified as a Dutch lawyer („Nederlands recht“)
– Proactive and result driven team player with solid verbal and written communication skills
– Strong sense of responsibility and proven business sense
– Strong negotiation and people skills
– Experience with or exposure to international and multi-cultural environments
– Fluency in Dutch and English
Preferred
– Experience in or strong affiliation with the (renewable) energy industry
– Experience with M&A transactions, construction (EPC) contracts, or project financing
– Residence within one hour‘ commuting area from Amsterdam Zuid
– Fluency in Spanish, Italian, Polish or Bulgarian
