The goal of the Controller is to oversee the accounting and financial processes. Responsibilities include financial planning, managing financial processes, developing (multi-year) budgets, and preparing financial reports and annual accounts in strict compliance with reporting standards, the planning and control cycle, and legal requirements.

Description

Create and Monitor Budgets, Quarterly Reports, and Annual Accounts:

  • Provide input for financial management, the planning & control cycle, and annual accounts.
  • Develop budgets and collaborate with budget owners to ensure accurate translation into their individual budgets.
  • Prepare financial management and control reports, and make forecasts (soon to include cash flow statements).
  • Oversee accounting, budgeting, and control processes, advising management and the Director of Finance & Operations on necessary interventions.
  • Supervise P&L and balance sheet analysis.
  • Execute year-end closing procedures and adhere to deadlines.

Deliver Comprehensive Reports and Present Assessments:

  • Prepare reports with financial management, planning, and control information, including appropriate recommendations.
  • Proactively identify variances and provide advice on corrective actions.
  • Present assessment reports based on the prepared documents.
  • Act as a sparring partner for business controllers and other parts of the organisation as needed.

Manage and Improve Congruent Processes:

  • Manage financial processes by identifying variances and ensuring continuous improvements.
  • Identify internal and external trends, as well as relevant legislation, translating these insights into policies that support the strategic planning.
  • Establish guidelines and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Maintain contact with external parties (e.g., audit processes).
  • Serve as a liaison with our Finance Administration experts and Business Control.
  • Support the department as needed to achieve its goals


Profile

We are looking for a results-driven professional with strong planning and organisational skills. You should have a client-oriented mindset, demonstrate initiative, work with precision and accuracy, and possess excellent communication and creative skills.
  • You hold a bachelor's or master's degree and have corresponding cognitive abilities.
  • Ideally, you have five years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
  • You have strong financial acumen and the ability to navigate existing complexities to achieve alignment and solid planning.
  • You are attuned to the interests within the organisation and skilled at tactfully navigating these interests.
  • Your focus is on achieving results, and you enjoy collaborating with colleagues to reach common goals.
  • You can effectively guide your environment by leading processes in a pleasant manner, showing a good understanding of when flexibility or firmness is required.
  • You communicate effectively and possess strong verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English. You have a valid permit to live and work in the Netherlands.
