We are looking for a Teacher of IB MYP Digital Design and IBDP Computer Science who can enhance the broad range of skills and interests in our Design department. The right candidate will be able to inspire and motivate students through their teaching of Design in the MYP programme. Design teachers are expected to be fully comfortable with explicitly teaching the Design Cycle within computer labs or fully digital classrooms.

The subject focuses on skills such as graphics/media, programming, spreadsheets, and databases. The candidate would be expected to be proficient in these skills. In addition, the candidate should be familiar with Google Apps for Education, Apple desktop computers and iPads. The role will be primarily MYP classes, with some additional lessons teaching IBDP Computer Science possible. Experience in teaching IBDP Computer Science and preparing students for exams and IAs is therefore desirable.

There is a possibility of including the Robotics Coordinator role for the right candidate.

We expect our teachers to be skilled in using digital tools for teaching (example: MacBook Air, Touch Screen boards and iPads). The chosen candidate will be a reflective practitioner and embrace opportunities for Continuous Professional Learning.Qualifications and ExperienceEssential:

A Bachelor or Master's degree in Digital Design (or related field)    An official teaching qualification such as a Bachelor or Master’s level degree in Education, Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate in Education etc. to teach Digital Design/Computer Science to all year groups and levels in Secondary Education. Please know that in order to work for us, you must be a fully qualified teacher in accordance with the standards required by the Dutch Education Authorities (DUO):The teaching qualification must be officially recognized either in your home country or the country in which you obtained your qualification, as this is the starting point for DUOFor applicants from the UK with a PGCE, you must also have a QTS and successfully completed your NQT induction yearAt least three years secondary school teaching experience in Digital DesignPreferred:Experience in teaching IB MYP Digital Design and DP Computer ScienceExperience in Robotics and CoordinationApplicants who have the right to work in The Netherlands, independent of employment statusWe offer

As with all teacher appointments in The Netherlands, this is a temporary appointment for one year, with a view to a permanent contract if all the conditions are met. The position is based on the Dutch Collective Labor Agreement (CAO) for Secondary Education.

Teacher salary scale LB: €3301 - €5030 pm (gross) / Teacher & Coordinator salary scale LC: €3321 - €5862 pm (gross) for 1.0FTE - steps in the scales depend on relevant background and experience.

Other benefits include the 8% holiday allowance, a year-end bonus of 8.33%, a contribution towards travel expenses and the ABP pension scheme.

In addition staff are given a number of options for tax benefits regarding trade union dues, the costs of sports (fitness) membership fees, the purchase of a bicycle (for commuting purposes) and a travel allowance (cafeteria scheme). Rijnlands staff also receive discounts on various insurance policies.Application Process
