Senior Full Stack Engineer (.NET) – Work on Open Source Impact

At nexxbiz / ELSA-X, we're not only revolutionizing the insurance industry with modern tech—we're also proud stewards of ELSA Workflows, a powerful open-source workflow engine used by developers across the world. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you'll be joining the ELSA-X team, contributing directly to the Elsa core platform (see elsa-workflows/elsa-core on GitHub), building tooling, and shaping the future of how developers automate complex processes.

This is a rare opportunity to work on open-source tech and get paid for it—while learning from and collaborating with some of the most passionate engineers in the field, including Elsa's original founder and architect, Sipke Schoorstra.

What you'll do

  • Build and extend Elsa's backend services using .NET 8, C#, and ASP.NET Core
  • Contribute to Elsa's frontend UI tools using modern web and front-end technologies
  • Help evolve Elsa's architecture to support enterprise-grade scalability, modularity, and security
  • Work with distributed systems, cloud-native tooling, and APIs
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code (and help others do the same)
  • Collaborate with the open-source community through GitHub PRs, discussions, and roadmap planning
  • Design and develop reusable components that help developers build workflows faster and more reliably

What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience in full stack software development
  • Strong skills in .NET (C#), ASP.NET Core, Web APIs
  • Extensive experience with modern front-end technologies, such as React (or Blazor, Vue, etc.), TypeScript, HTML/CSS
  • Adequate experience with UX best practices and user-focused design
  • Experience working with distributed systems, messaging, or workflow engines is a huge plus
  • Passion for open-source development and contributing to shared codebases
  • Comfort working in GitHub-driven, community-first environments
  • A growth mindset and the ability to work independently on deep technical problems
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative spirit
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
