At GKN Fokker Aerospace we are hiring Manufacturing Engineers in the field of Product & Planning to join our Fokker Landing Gear team based in Papendrecht, NL.
In this dynamic role, you'll be at the forefront of managing Non-Conformities, collaborating closely with Operations, Design Engineering, Planning and Quality teams. Your expertise will be pivotal in enhancing operational performance and spearheading initiatives aimed at achieving zero defect projects through superior engineering and problem solving skills.
As Manufacturing Engineer at GKN Fokker Aerospace, you will harness data analysis and innovative thinking to refine existing processes, ensuring robust and capable manufacturing process technology across materials, tooling, part fabrication, and assembly.

Fokker Landing Gear
Fokker Landing Gear, a part of GKN Fokker Aerospace, is a recognized specialist in landing gear and related systems. We focus on the design and development, production and assembly of complete landing gear systems, as well as the repair and overhaul of systems already in use. Our work includes some of the most well-known aircrafts and helicopters, such as the Apache attack helicopter, the F-035 Lighting II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, and the versatile NH90 maritime combat helicopter.
In the engineering team at Fokker Landing Gear, CAD/CAM engineers, product and planning engineers, and materials and process specialists collaborate to drive innovation and efficiency. Utilizing advanced technologies, they convert blueprints into precise machining and assembly instructions, optimizing workflows while maintaining uncompromising quality standards. Through close collaboration and expertise in materials and processes, this dynamic team pushes new boundaries in the aerospace industry and sets the standard for excellence in this field.
What you'll do
Develop technical solutions to complex problems, by exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards. Hold responsibility for the technical support of manufacturing development and integration for production. Resolve issues pertaining to vendor schedule and/or quality. Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformities. Drive the implementation of tooling and or production planning, from original concept through to production. Design these processes with a high degree of process capability utilizing the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite to demonstrate as such. Take responsibility for the product development, first article development, configuration changes, build process definition and implementation. Deliver measurable, data driven results in line with Operational & Program goals. Maintain positive team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.What you'll bring
Technical expertise in Manufacturing Engineering, with a professional qualification / background (HBO/university degree) in engineering (Aerospace, Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical). 3+ years' experience in managing existing production process improvements, non-conformities and New Product / Process introduction (industrialization) Ability to influence people, build trust and establish effective working relationships within a global organization. Working knowledge of: LEAN processes and practices machining processes in a production quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000 Fluency in English language, both in writing & speaking. Detail oriented, proactive and outspoken. Quality oriented and strong documentation/reporting skills. Good communicative skills. Familiarity with machining processes (milling, mill-turn, boring, honing) and with surface treatment processes (heat treatment, plating, NDI) is considered an asset.What we'll offer you
