The role: Deputy Airport Manager - Amsterdam

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Worldwide Airports Directorate in this operational role as a Deputy Airport Manager Amsterdam
This key role supports the Airport Manager at Schiphol Airport by providing safety and operational oversight, and other critical functions, leading and empowering multiple suppliers and partners at the 4th largest international airport in Europe with an average of 45 weekly BA departures.

What you'll do:

Deputise for the Airport Manager (APM) and be accountable in all required activities, ensuring these are fulfilled in a set and timely manner. This includes (but is not limited to) LPM, Audits, Station Emergency Response Procedures, and BCP's.
Support the APM in the delivery of agreed targets and goals in addition to the control of expenditure.
Lead the operational delivery performance of all suppliers at the airport/airports (cluster).
Act as Local Emergency Coordinator (LEC).
Represent British Airways interests at the airport; AOC, Monthly Airport Authority Account Meetings, etc.
Ensure that all airport activities are undertaken in compliance with BA's corporate security and safety instructions, local security standards.
In the absence of the APM, deputize in maintaining effective links with relevant Head Office departments and service partners for day-to-day operational issues.
Ensure that the quality of services delivered is in line with service level and contractual agreements. Obtain the highest level of performance and motivation through successful communication and influencing skills
Ensure all local resources are utilised in such a manner that customer satisfaction and revenue are maximized, and efficiency is increased within given constraints.

What you'll bring to British Airways:

You will have a positive can-do approach being operationally driven and customer service focused - leading from the front.
Have an inquisitive and tenacious approach to problem solving, demonstrating confidence your own ability to quickly get to grips with new subject matter.
You will regularly demonstrate the ability to collaborate with others to achieve common goals - with experience working cross functionally in an open and collegiate manner, both with internal colleagues at all levels of the organisation, as well as key external stakeholders.
Demonstrate your ability to remain committed and willing to persevere despite the challenges of an operational environment.
You will be someone, who demonstrates self-motivation as well as also having the ability to motivate internal colleagues as well as external teams.
The right to live and work in the Netherlands is an essential requirement for this role

You will be an advocate for British Airways in our "BeNeLux" region

Your experience:

Airport operations experience or exposure to operational decision making.

Experience of managing suppliers in an operational environment

A proven track record demonstrating experience of decision making whilst balancing the complex needs of the operation, our people and the business.
