Your job

Supporting the development and execution of the vision and strategy for ABN AMRO's Personal & Business Banking. Examples of activities:

  • Identifying new business opportunities coming both from internal analysis and from external assessments. Participating in benchmarking initiatives and identifying potential growth opportunities.
  • Participating in impactful strategy projects.
  • Working on ad-hoc requests, presentations for the Executive Committee or Supervisory Board.
  • Translating the strategy into concrete Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) alongside the P&BB management team and monitoring strategy execution progress.
  • Developing the sustainability strategy and coordinating activities for P&BB.

You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders within ABN AMRO, including Segment Development Teams, product grids, Group Strategy & Innovation, Sustainability Center of Excellence, and colleagues in Wealth Management and Corporate Banking.

Your profile

You are a self-starter who is eager to learn and enjoys taking responsibility. You like solving complex puzzles. Above all, you are a team player always willing to assist others and seek help when needed. Clear and effective communication, both oral and written, is essential.

On your CV:

  • Academic background
  • 2 to 4 years of work experience
  • Involvement in (Business) projects or extracurricular activities showcasing skills in Communication, Problem-solving, (Quantitative) analyses, Teamwork, and Organisational sensitivity.
  • Proficiency in Dutch (preferably fluent) and English
  • Basic understanding of the Dutch retail banking market is advantageous due to ABN AMRO's focus on the Dutch market.

The Client Unit Personal & Business Banking oversees Consumer Clients, Affluent Clients, Business Clients & Ecosystems (self-employed and SME), Transaction Banking, Home Financing, Customer Digital Engagement, Processes & Control, and Strategy Office. Catering to private clients with assets up to €500,000 and business clients with a turnover of up to €25 million, we focus on delivering a blend of convenient digital solutions and specialized expertise while integrating sustainability into customer value propositions.

The Strategy Office Personal & Business Banking comprises ten business strategy consultants supporting P&BB management with insightful analyses to drive informed decisions and align team directions. Additionally, the team ensures the precise execution of strategies by aiding teams in translating strategies into measurable Objectives & Key Results. They also prepare materials for engagements with external stakeholders, the Executive Board, and the Supervisory Board.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer of the Client Unit, the Strategy Office has undertaken tasks such as formulating strategies to attract minor clients, defining sustainability objectives, and establishing Objectives & Key Results for future years. With a mix of experience levels, you, as a Junior Strategy Office consultant, will manage workstreams within significant projects, conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses, and collaborate with Strategy Office peers to formulate management advice.
