We are seeking an

Operations Manager

Skilled people manager, hands-on, structured, focused on operational excellence, and autonomy.

Job Description

As the Operations Manager at the European Distribution Centre in Woerden, Netherlands, you will oversee all AMPCO products, lead a team of 20 FTE, set milestones and budget, while emphasizing teamwork and internal process enhancement.

You will implement LEAN techniques, ensure quality management and cost control, aiming for business objectives and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities include maintaining a safe workplace, fostering team morale, continuous improvement, and employee development.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Manage daily operations
  • Lead and develop the team
  • Enhance processes using tools like 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement
  • Boost employees' skills and employability
  • Maintain open communication with other AMPCO locations and staff
  • Asset Management
  • Reporting to AMPCO'S EVP Procurement & Fulfillment

Requirements :

  • HBO education level
  • Analytical thinking or relevant work experience
  • Minimum five years' experience in managing production or operations teams
  • Prior experience in logistics/distribution or metal production
  • Good knowledge of material properties, especially nonferrous alloys
  • Proficiency in 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement
  • Strong digital and software skills, including ERP and digital projects
  • Fluency in English and Dutch
  • Resident of The Netherlands

Competencies:

You are a hands-on coach and team leader with excellent communication skills. Your presence at the distribution center, focus on integrity, teamwork, and honesty, and analytical nature make you a valuable asset. You work with a keen eye on KPIs and budget.
