Organisational Context
The Suspects At Large Tracking Team (SALTT) is a diverse team within the Office of the Prosecutor (OTP), responsible for tracking down individuals for whom the ICC has issued arrest warrants. The team consists of investigators, analysts, lawyers, and international cooperation advisers. The analytical component of the team comprises individuals with varied professional backgrounds to maximize efficiency and language capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads – Proactively identifies potential sources of information and advises the team on strategic considerations, electronic media, and other open sources on the internet.
- Databases – Utilizes available databases for analysis and investigations, designs data models, and manages analytical projects.
- Analytical products – Produces accurate analytical reports, relational charts, and timelines.
- Operational support – Responds to analytical needs for team operations and supports investigative planning.
- Planning support – Assists in planning collection and analysis work for strategic decision-making.
- Information collection – Participates in information gathering operations as required.
Essential Qualifications
Education:
Advanced university degree preferably in Social Sciences, Law, or relevant fields. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience.
Training in analysis techniques for criminal investigation and specialized software is required.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in analytical work, preferably in complex criminal investigations. Relevant working experience in specialist areas is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong reasoning skills to understand complex crime scenarios and develop logical inferences.
- Advanced computer skills for database operation and analytical software.
- Project management skills for planning and managing analytical projects.
- Ability to handle voluminous data and work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
- Professional integrity.
Knowledge of Languages:
Proficiency in English or French is required, with working knowledge of the other. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
