Operational Buyer for 40 hours per week


Your Responsibilities

Checking delivery times with suppliers and placing orders. Managing purchases efficiently. Ensuring the right price-quality ratio and opting for the most interesting supplier(s).

Your Profile

No specific education is required for this position, but a completed MBO-4 level education / at least MBO working and thinking level is necessary. Logistics or Technical Business Administration is a plus. As a buyer, you need to be able to handle stress, set priorities, work with focus and be accurate. You enjoy collaborating with various disciplines in a fast-paced environment where timeliness and reliability are key to success.

Good verbal and written skills in Dutch, German, and English. Team player, yet able to work independently. Knowledge of logistic (production) processes (inventory management, MRP) is required and familiarity with SAP is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook) is necessary. A minimum of 2 years of experience in this role is required to perform this job independently.

  • Purchasing products;
  • Updating inventory;
  • Checking delivery times;
  • Requesting prices and delivery dates;
  • Creating items;
  • Setting up transport shipments;
  • Verifying price differences and making corrections as necessary;
  • Reporting shortages and handling them;
  • Arranging special transport;
  • Informing colleagues from the sales department through overviews/reports and toward Sulzbach colleagues (supply chain);
  • Receiving goods;
  • Managing the mailbox (approximately emails per year);
  • Other ad hoc tasks;

Depending on the skills and development of the employee, these key tasks can be expanded further in consultation with the Manager Purchasing. This could involve decision making on order quantities and additional SAP authorizations. It is an ongoing process from the start of this position.


Where You'll Work

This role focuses on providing all-round support to the Purchase Manager in all tasks. It requires foresight, out of the box thinking, and creativity. Accuracy, setting priorities, and working with focus are important. The Assistant Purchasing continuously juggles multiple tasks, often under time pressure.
