The Twinscan Factory (TF) in Veldhoven oversees the entire production process of DUV wafer scanners. The LAB department within TF focuses on introducing new products and processes from Development into Volume Production, including system installation at customer sites.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Troubleshoot Engineer for New Product Introduction (NPI), you play a crucial role in ensuring the successful introduction of new products into volume production. Your main focus is on identifying and mitigating risks throughout the Product Generation Process. You use insights gained during escalations and performance monitoring of the initial prototype and pilot systems to provide input for new designs, setting requirements and proposing improvement ideas. As an NPI Troubleshoot Engineer, you also offer technical support during the manufacturing and qualification of the latest generation DUV systems. Your expertise is essential in resolving complex issues to ensure well-calibrated and qualified systems that meet the desired specifications.

In addition to new product introductions, LAB TS engineers are involved in implementing new production processes at TF. The team's role is to assess the technical impact of process changes and suggest ways to mitigate these impacts.

As a team, we strive for a steep learning curve, aiming for the volume factory to achieve self-reliance after a maximum of 5 pilot systems. We follow a continuous cycle of learning, improvement, and knowledge sharing to support ASML's technical roadmap.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate New Product Introductions:
    • Contribute to New Product Definition (requirement setting & design review)
    • Utilize 'lessons learned' from mature products to enhance current and future products

Share your knowledge with your factory colleagues regarding the pilot system

Validate the requirements during integration on the prototype systems

Analyze product performance on initial pilots (product performance review)

Resolve Disturbances:

Take responsibility for product performance on initial pilot systems

  • Resolve disturbances during manufacturing and installation
  • Take charge of escalated issues
  • Address complex technical issues collaboratively
  • Create effective action plans to drive solutions and minimize downtime
  • Prevent issues from recurring

Facilitate New Process Introductions:

Act as a subject matter expert for the introduction of new processes within TF

Education and Experience

Education
BSc / MSc in a Technical field (Applied Physics, Mechatronics, Electronics)

Experience
- Experience in a production environment with high-tech products and complex production processes

Experience with complex mechanical components

0-5 years of proven work experience in analyzing complex problems

Extensive experience in production, engineering, and project management

Preferred experience with Matlab
