The Twinscan Factory (TF), located in Veldhoven, is responsible for the complete production process of DUV wafer scanners.
Within TF, the LAB department focusses on the Introduction of new products and corresponding processes from Development into Volume Production, including system installation at customer site.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and Responsibilities

As proud leader in the craft of manufacturing the LAB TS team acts as a technical authority to support the Twinscan Factory by introducing new products and processes.

As a Troubleshoot Engineer New Product Introduction (NPI), you secure the Introduction of new products into volume production. You do this by focusing on risk identification and mitigation, throughout the Product Generation Process. The experience gained during escalations, combined with performance monitoring of the first proto and pilot systems is used to deliver input for new designs, by setting requirements and defining improvement proposals. In addition to this a NPI Troubleshoot engineer provides technical support during manufacturing and qualification of the latest generation DUV systems, when they first hit the factory floor as pilot systems. Our main task here is to solve complex issues as a technical expert in order to secure a well calibrated and qualified system that performs to the desired specifications.

Next to focusing on introducing new products, a LAB TS engineer is also involved in the Introduction of new production processes in TF. Here, the role of the team is to identify the technical impact of any process change and propose solutions on how to mitigate this impact.

As a team we drive for a steep learning curve, enabling the volume factory to be self-reliant after a maximum of 5 pilot systems. A continuous cycle of learning, improving and sharing insights to support the technical roadmap of ASML.

Responsibilities:
Facilitate New Product Introductions:
- Contribute to New Product Definition (requirement setting & design review);
- Use ‘lessons learned’ from mature products to improve current and future products;

- Share your knowledge with your factory colleagues on the pilot system;

- Verify the requirements during integration on the proto systems;

- Analyze product performance on first pilots (product performance review);

Resolve disturbances:

- Responsibility for product performance on first pilot systems;
- Resolve disturbances during manufacturing and install;
- Take ownership of escalated issues;
- Solve complex and cross-modular technical issues through team effort;
- Provide qualitative action plans which drive for solutions while minimizing down-time;
- Prevent issues from re-occurring;
Facilitate new process Introductions:

- Be a subject matter expert for the Introduction of new processes within TF.

Education and experience

Education
BSc / MSc Technical degree (Applied physics, Mechatronics, Electronics).

Experience
- Experience in a production environment with high tech products and complex production processes;

- Experience with complex mechanical parts;

- 0-5 years proven work experience in analysis from complex problems;

- Extended experience with production and engineering, project management skills;

- Experience with Matlab is preferred.
