Leerplicht Consulent

Your role:
The team's goal is to ensure compliance with the Compulsory Education Act and the Regional Reporting and Coordination Function Act (RMC). These laws set conditions for young people up to 23 years to achieve the most suitable educational and/or job position.

As an Education Compulsory Consultant, your tasks are as follows:

• Check if parents and young people comply with compulsory education;
• Monitor and process notifications from schools within your caseload through DUO;
• Provide information to young people about the importance of attending school and the consequences of violating the compulsory education law;
• Bring parties together and collaborate to prevent school dropouts and find solutions;
• Work with schools and parents to find solutions to attendance problems;
• If necessary, prepare an official report if a student is truant or not enrolled in a school;
• Identify personal issues and refer to the appropriate support agency.

Who do you work with?
Within the Compulsory Education/Transition Point team of Social Community Implementation, you collaborate with approximately 30 colleagues for 21 municipalities in the Southeast Brabant region. Maintaining existing relationships and establishing new ones are essential, especially contacts with mbo schools.

What you bring:

• You have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and possess a BOA diploma or are willing to obtain one;
• You have knowledge of the compulsory education officer profession;
• You are willing to enforce regulations towards students and parents if necessary;
• You can work independently on your own cases and navigate smoothly through any stressful discussions that may arise;
• You aim for results in reducing school absenteeism;
• You are service-oriented in your interactions with students and parents.
