Making Connections

As the Manager Emergency Response, you will provide direction to the firefighting service so they can respond adequately to emergency situations characterized by high risk. How you approach this challenge is up to you. We trust in your ability to adhere to established agreements and rules. Your talents will be utilized in:

  • Handling incidents and emergencies at and around the airport following current laws, agreements, and regulations.
  • Building and maintaining networks within relevant organizations and partners.
  • Organizing necessary training, exercises, and proficiency checks.
  • Managing 6 Airport Fire Officers, 12 Team Leaders, and indirectly around 155 employees.
  • The Fire Brigade, Crisis & Safety Training department significantly contributes to ensuring airport processes' continuity. The Manager Emergency Response not only focuses on firefighting but also demonstrates the ability to work within the broader context of the airport and aviation sector.

  • A completed Bachelor's degree supplemented with training as Chief Officer of Duty/Head Fire Chief.
  • Excellent leadership skills (at least 5 years of experience in a managerial position).
  • Outstanding communication skills in Dutch both verbally and in writing with excellent listening abilities.

By operating according to laws and regulations and implementing preventive measures, we strive to make the airport as safe as possible and provide a healthy work environment. In case of an incident, our crisis response and control teams act effectively. We are also actively working on sustainability. The energy transition and the airport's electrification present many challenges in terms of both the environment and safety. From firefighters to safety specialists, we work together to protect people and the environment.
